Enchanting songstress Miranda Sage celebrates the release of her seventh album, Music of the Spheres, featuring exceptional new arrangements by Officer of the Order of Canada recipient and multi Juno award winning Don Thompson.

This stunning collection of love songs, infused with sophisticated artistry, promises an unforgettable musical evening for jazz lovers. Alongside classic vocal jazz you will hear Miranda and Don’s songwriting collaborations on new melodic standards with thought-provoking lyrics. Miranda’s sultry toned, expressive voice – brimming with life experience and emotional depth—brings a rare authenticity to each lyric, captivating audiences. The album has already garnered airplay on CBC’s Saturday Night Jazz and respected European jazz stations.

Miranda, born in England, has lived in Canada much of her life. She has produced six previous, critically acclaimed albums, toured in the U.K., Europe, Canada and the U.S., and performs locally.

For one night only, at Hermann’s Jazz Club, 753 View Street in Victoria, BC on Saturday, March 22, at 7pm, Music of the Spheres sophisticated arrangements will be brought to life by Miranda’s quintet featuring:

  • Phil Dwyer, Order of Canada recipient, Juno award winning tenor saxophonist, based in Qualicum Beach, is a musician nonpareil.
  • Attila Fias, renowned Victoria/Toronto pianist with his signtaure virtuosic approach is sure to dazzle and bring a smile to audience members
  • Ken Lister, top-notched bassist from Qualicum Beach, first-call to many NYC touring jazz musicians
  • Richard Brisco, from Toronto, bringing rhythmic finesse and dynamic grooves to these masterful arrangements.
